PARTS Information on Mercedes SLK

Potential Cures for Engine Noise when you switch off a Warm Engine & then start it again not having started for 2 days or Longer

Applies to - R170. 4 Cylinder Models with M111 Engine. Particularly if it is a Low Mileage Car

There are 2 items that seem to be centered around the Front of the Engine. In both cases there is a Non-Return Valve that may need replacement.

Flow back of oil from 1/-Valve Gear via Oil Filter. This is accessed from the front of the Timing Case Cover

OR

2/-Oil Reservoir for Chain Tensioner. You need to remove the Timing Case Cover to access it.

PLEASE NOTE. This does not rule out other problems that may occur giving these Symptons
